TECHNOLOGY

The KLA of Technology includes using technology processes  to investigate the designed world. Students are to understand that information exists in many forms and can identify the ways they use information. They are to explore and identify the use of materials at home and in familiar environments and be able to explain the purposes of some familiar systems in familiar contexts, while demonstrating their understand through play.

The use of computers is one skill to be developed when using technology. St Martin's has an extensive network of computers throughout the school. Each class has one networked computer, with several networked computers in the Resource Centre.

In 2002 a new Technology Centre will come on line providing a class bank of computers within the Resource Centre. A technology teacher will work through 2002 to further develop the Technology program providing greater access to children and staff.
